When was the last time you stopped to consider your needs, without also taking into account what someone else wanted for you? Many of us neglect ourselves and think more about others and their needs. Focusing on yourself is not being selfish, it’s an act of self love.
Really think about what you like to do, what things bring joy to your life when you don’t have to consider anyone’s preferences. What books, movies, and activities are you drawn to when no one’s watching?
Read books, listen to new podcasts, pick up a new hobby. Wilform says, “Learning new things can improve brain capacity and happiness, while mastering new skills builds confidence and self-respect.”
One of the best places to start on the road to self-improvement is by envisioning your self, and how you might like to feel years down the line. And from there, beginning to live life from that perspective.
There are times when people try to bring you down, and that is when you need to be strong and focus more on yourself rather than listening to what others are saying.
Make sure that no matter what happens, always try to put yourself first and keep your self-worth above that of others.
